Sinotrans Group, now exclusive agents of SAM

Guangdong Eternal Way International Freight Co. Ltd (part of the Sinotrans Group), one of China’s premier logistics companies, recently signed an agreement with Barloworld Logistics Far East to become the exclusive SAM agent (Sea Air Model into Africa) in order to promote and sell the service in the South China Region. SAM is a product of Swift Freight International, which was acquired by South African-owned Barloworld Logistics in April 2008.

SAM transports cargo from the Far East by sea freight into Dubai, and then by air into various destinations into Africa. What makes SAM unique is its multimodal combined transport capability with fixed departure and 6-month advance schedules, enabling companies dealing with Africa, to plan their business cycles more efficiently.

Mr. Zhou Guang Tao, General Manager of Eternal Way’s Freight Management Division related that in preparation to endorse SAM, they have organized training for their sales staff “to build their confidence on the product and enhance product awareness.”

“We have also arranged promotions in key cities, such as Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Shunde, Foshan, Jiangmen, and Zhuhai to spread the awareness of SAM. Sino-Air, our affiliate under the Sinotrans Group, will assist in selling SAM to their clients, focusing mainly on trade companies, suppliers, and manufacturers who have business dealings in Africa,” he added.

Mr. Behram Baluch, Regional Sales Director for Barloworld Logistics Far East, emphasized the importance of the agreement and said, “This is another milestone for SAM. This partnership will become the catalyst to increase the awareness of SAM in the PRD region. Sinotrans Group is well established with a vast knowledge and expertise in the industry, and together with our network in Africa, we will definitely be able to provide logical logistics solutions to clients.”
